Spelunker’ Now Available On The Nintendo 3Ds Virtual Console Service

As of March 8, Best Buy now has an online deal that if you buy a new Wii U console, you’ll receive a free $20 gift card that is shipped separately from the original order. Could this be a strategy by Best Buy to sell more Wii U systems? Anything is possible.

Joystiq says that Nintendo has found a cool way to make their environmentally-friendly package less irksome with Star Fox 64 3D. The only problem is, they did that with nintendogs + cats as well, but we didn’t see the benefit here.

How about a hacking on the eve of E3? A mere drop in the bucket compared to Sony, but an intrusion none the less. Hacks aside, Big N has bigger fish to fry come Tuesday, June 7th at 9:00am. An L.A. morning all to themselves, Nintendo prepares to unveil the big guns at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo. Last of the big three, but certainly not least; a new home console shall emerge out of Nintendo’s corner, will it pack the right punch for consumers? Initial 3DS sales are stellar despite an insipid launch lineup, what’s next for the glassless 3D handheld? Wii purchases are dwindling, Zelda is coming, but do we really care? Swallow that red pill, because we’re going deep into Nintendo’s pipe hole.

This week’s Κατασκευή ιστοσελίδας με WordPress update also adds the release of Game & Wario (6/23) for the Wii U, as well as LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey (6/25) and Project X Zone (6/25), both for the 3DS.

Destructoid’s Jonathan Holmes talks to the man behind Frogger 3D, Tak Fuji, who shows off the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game’s “eternal challenge” mode, “unique sushi assets,” and his love of classic gaming.

That last part reminds me a bit of what little I know of Final Fantasy VIII. And I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it, one way or the other. But now I have a sudden urge to rewatch some Saved by the Bell episodes…

Being an avid retro gamer and collector all I can say is YES! If this is indeed a true rumor, I will be getting a brand new copy for my collection. Of course since there is no chance that they would bring this to English speaking countries, we would have to wait for a translated ROM to actually play and understand it, but either way this could be huge news!
